About Us
Getting Started
The Prelude
I guess our story actually started in Austin. I was supposed
to go home to Dallas for Father's Day weekend, but then I realized
that I wouldn't be getting on the road until the afternoon on
Saturday of that weekend because I needed to be in Austin to head
up a service project that day. I called my Dad and told him that
if I came home Father's Day weekend, I wasn't going to be able
to be there very long - like less than 24 hrs....and I was considering
coming up the next weekend. I was feeling really bad because I
was the only sibling (I'm one of five kids) who was going to be
able to go home for Father's Day and now that was changing. Dad
said, "Every time you kids come home, it's Father's Day so just
come when you have more time." I told him I'd be home the following
Friday.
The Beginning
So the weekend after Father's Day, I drove to Dallas and got
to spend some quality time with my parents. Sunday morning, June
24th, I was reading the Dallas Morning News and there it was -
the
article about DallasONE's first event. I read the article
and knew then and there that we needed to do the same thing in
Austin - gather together our singles and serve as the Body of
Christ! I drove back to Austin that afternoon and told my roommate
Jenny about DallasONE.
AustinONE
She was excited about adopting the vision of DallasONE and AustinONE
was born!
We contacted DallasONE through their website and their team has
been an incredible source of encouragement and support ever since.
AustinONE grows daily and we can't wait to see what God has in
store for our city! Both Jenny and I are humbled to be a part
of this new ministry. Our entire leadership team has stepped out
in faith knowing that God will provide what is needed in His perfect
timing and are praying hard for His guidance every step of the
way. It's been an amazing adventure already & and we're just getting
started!
The Rest of the Story
AustinONE Ministry
AustinONE is a ministry that realizes singles are a part of the body of Christ. We believe
this is the anointed time for God to do something new and amazing among the believers in Austin
who are single. It is our vision to see believers in Austin come together and reach out to our
city to show the people of Austin just how much God loves them.
Our Calling
Jesus prays that His followers will be united. John 17:21 says, “that all of them may be one,
Father, just as you are in Me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may
believe that you have sent Me.”
Paul also talks about unity in Ephesians 4:3-5. He says, to “make every effort to keep the
unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit – just as you
were called – one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and
through all and in all.”
The world will know that God loves them through the unity of the church and our love for
each other. The church is made up of people who believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only Son
sent to die for the forgiveness of our sins, and who is now alive and seated at the right
hand of God.
Through worship, unity, and service the body of Christ grows. Relationships become stronger.
People grow closer to God, and all the glory is given to Him. AustinONE provides an opportunity
for this growth.
Join us in AustinONE as we unite, serving ONE God.
